FDA Approves New Diet Pill to Help Lose Weight

After a thirteen year hiatus, The Food & Drug Administration has approved a New Diet Pill called Qsymia pronounces (kyoo sim ee uh) formerly known as Qnexa.  

Qsymia combines a low does appetite suppressant, which will help to curb those food cravings, along with a low dose anti-seizure medication that has a side effect of helping people lose weight.

Researchers believe this one to punch can help as many as 72 million people that are considered overweight or obese.  The ideal candidate for the prescription will be people who are considered overweight or obese with at least one or more of the following conditions but not limited to:


  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol 
  • Type II Diabetes
The drug Qsymia has said to help patients lose up to ten percent of their body weight, which can help a lot of people get that just start that they need to sustain the weight loss.

Some of the common side effects are but not limited to:


  • Numbness of tingling in hands, arms feet or face
  • dizziness
  • change in the way foods taste
  • loss of appetite
  • constipation
  • dry mouth.
It is recommended if your are pregnant that you do not take the drug it could cause birth defeats.  And if you are taking the drug and become pregnant check with your Doctor immediately before stopping.
