Do You Believe?

The question is what do you believe in.  There is no right or wrong but whatever you truly believe you will bring into fruition.  So if you are getting exactly what you want.  Then keep up the good work.  If you are not getting what you want, what is it going to take for you to change your mind and get something better. 

Is it because there is so much going on that you can not stop and focus truly on what you want or is it you don't really know what you want.  Either way it looks like time is the main ingredient for achieving that goal. 

Today I was sitting early this morning and it came to me exactly what I wanted.  Then I was able to see how all the other things I was doing was a part of that dream.  So now I don't have to wonder why I do what I do, I now know why I do what I do.

I have had to learn to be immune to critisium and recently I learned to be immune to flattery, that too can hold you back from the star you are destined to be.  I now know that it is not important to tell the world about my dream, but just to put one foot in front of the other and over time you will see what my dream is.

I say this to anyone that is reading my blog, "Keep the Faith, and don't let nobody turn you around, you got to know when it is good to go", and only you will know that, and know when to do it.  That lyric is from Michael Jackson's Keep the Faith. 

Sometimes people intentionally and unintentionally will try to stop you with all their questions, but go in love and you will arrive at your dream destination on time.

Day 9 on the Fitness Trail

First last night I did an experiment with Fiber One Cereal. I took a ½ cup of Fiber Cereal and let it sit in a ½ of milk over night. As the night went on the Fiber One Cereal got bigger and bigger and bigger. Then in the morning I noticed that the top of the cereal bowl just looked white. When I stirred up the cereal the cereal pieces and dissolved. Hum I thought this is probably why they say eat a high fiber cereal in the morning. It will keep you full because the cereal will get bigger in your tummy then after the proper amount of time it will dissolve. And the great thing about that is you will have rid your body of some needed crape. When I say crape I mean it in the most loving way (smile).

So today when I got up I had an appointment with a client for the Body Magic the garment that helps reshape your body. So anytime I have an appointment I definitely wear my garment. I also ordered the Angel Bra. I had noticed wearing the Body Magic with the under wire bras did not work out very well. Later I found that under wire bras are not good for your breast. So on with my day I wore my Body Magic and I am in a size 32. Today I was able to snap into the third row and with the Angel Bra I was looking something like Madonna in one of her earlier videos. Actually I look pretty cool like an action hero. So in short the Body Magic does work, my thighs are slimmer and my tummy is coming down.

Now I know I have mentioned that I am a cancer survivor. Last year I had major surgery to remove a tumor in my colon. Now the doctor went through an already existing incision from back in the day when I had a C-Section. Somehow they never completely go away. Oh well not a big deal. But I say all that to say that, with a C-Section that left scare tissue and now I have scare tissue from last year’s surgery some of the tissue can not be shrank away but maybe I might have to consider plastic surgery if it bothers me that much. Only time will tell. But all in all the Body Magic does give me the reinforcements that my body needs. Day 8

With every meal, and every day you are making a decision to bring your goal into fruition or you are leaving it to chance. One thing I always told my students, Time passes whether you are doing something or not. Why not make time work in your favor.

Day 7 of The Fitness Journey

Now one of the things you have to remember when you are on a journey, time to time you will stop to take a break or a rest stop. So the last few days I was not writing I was taking a break lol.
I will tell you what I did, because then you will see that even when you are on a break you still adhere to the guidelines, so that when you return you do not have to make up lost ground. Because that would be counter productive. So while I was on break this is what I did that contributed to the success of my fitness journey.
I think last we spoke I was on a hibernation because of the weather change. So on my days off I did continue to eat my high fiber cereal, General Mills, Fiber One, along with walnuts, banana, soy milk, coconut milk, yeah and I did eat some candy. My weapon of choice was the Life Saver gummy rings. I choose those because there was not fat in them. Although they did have sugar I could at least control how many I ate at one sitting verses eating the whole bag at one time. Now there was a time that I would unconsciously eat a bag of junk in one sitting. I found out that that type of behavior can lead to weight gain, and feeling lethargic, and just not motivated. So while it may give you an immediate pleasure, the price you pay for that is not worth the effort you will have to exert to remove it and the bad behavior.

It is actually your behavior you have to change in order to effect change in your bodily appearance. So if your ultimate goal is the have an improved outer appearance, then you have to change your actual thoughts you have about what you really want. If it is more important to enjoy your food pleasures whenever you want then those are the results that you will see in 2 weeks, 4 months or a year from now. But if your goal is to burn off some fat, build lean sexy muscles, get your BMI body mass index under control, be able to jog if you choose, climb 3 or 4 flights of stairs without being winded, having control over food choices, understanding your food choice, and what that will do to your goal, if these are the things you prefer in 2 weeks, 4 months or a year from now, then you have to recognize a lot of your results are coming from the thoughts and images you hold in your mind. You first have to change those images, and really believe it, no matter what may come. You have to see yourself finishing the goal, crossing the finish line, being the best you can be. And that happens with each decision you make daily about healthy food choices, exercise, and taking time to enjoy your body.
It is like you are sculpting out a master piece. You are the lump of clay, rock, fat, whatever you see yourself as, and then you become the artist, architect, designer of what your new piece of clay, rock or fat will look like in the future. Because you become the piece of art. So get going, create the body you want, don’t delay, it is worth the ride and the accomplishment of the goal.

Day 6 Rest

Today was a simple day.  It consisted of my normal work schedule.  On the fitness side it was a day of simple rest.  No real exercise.  With the weather changing here in Michigan it is like hibernation time.  So I have noticed every fall/winter and spring/summer I have about three days of sleep.  Now I don't mean I sleep for three continous days but a large part of my day is dedicated to sleep.  I never know exactly what day it falls on only that twice a year like clockwork I have to sleep longer than normal to adjust to the new season.  Has anyone else experienced the hibernation sleep?  So I suspect Thursday and Friday I might still be in sleepy mode.  So it might not be any real activity on the journey to fitness schedule.  But I will keep you posted.

Now even though it is hibernation time does not mean that I do not eat, not.  That would be crazy.  Cause I truly love to eat healthy crap that will make me stronger, healthier, faster and you know it is all about being in peak optimum condition.  So foods that add to this goal are always on the menu.  So here we go with today's menu.  You know Fiber One, coconut milk, 1/3 cup walnuts, banana, peanut butter and crackers, chicken noodle soup with the chicken I baked on was it Sunday or Monday, I forget but one of those days.

Cooking a bunch of chicken breast in advance comes in handy throughout your week.  That way you already have your protein cooked now you can just add it to a salad, in a soup, make a sandwich, eat it with some veggies and call it a night.  Oh yeah and I got in my water and water.  Water is good for your body, tissue, cells, the whole make up.  So drink up to your body. 

Got in my 4oz of MonaVie, and even sold a case of it today along with the MonaVie EMV the energy drink.  I guess the taste of the Acai Berry is quite popular.  So what can I say.

Day 5, Shedding Fat, Building Muscle

So today I started off with two whole wheat waffles, with some Smart Balance Omega Buttery Spread, made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.  Now the health facts of Smart Balance Omega Buttery Spread is: No Palm Kernel Oil; no trans fat; Excellance source of Omega 3's ALA/EPA+DHA, Vitamin A, B6, B12 D & E added; Gluten and Gelatin Free.  I had 1 hot chocolate package for breakfast.

I had 4 oz of MonaVie Active the premier acai blend.  I like taking this juice because last year my cells underwent radiation and chemo.  So this year it is all about rejuvinating my body for the cellular level up.  My MonaVie has 19 exotic fruits from all over the world, including the ACAI Berry from the rain forest in Brazil.

Later I had my regular General Mill's Fiber 1.  I measured out my cup and had a cup of coconut milk, along with walnuts and a banana.  Now when you eat Fiber One or any cereal that is high fiber, you will be eating for a few minutes.  It takes me about 15-20 to eat all my cereal.  The good thing about that is when I get done chewing, trust me I am not in the mood to chew.  Please with that combination I am running on complex carbohydrates.  Which will give me a long sustain enengy flow.

For my exercise I walked Andy over to the park, got doggie bags, let him run around the park then headed back home.  From there went to Anytime Fitness, did 30 minutes on the bike.  I took it all the way up to level 25 and was able to sustain the gradual increase over 30 minutes.  From there I did 30 minutes on treadmill walking 3.5.  After that worked my lats, chest, bicep, tricep and deltoids, and capped it off with a ten minutes on the recumbine bike.  And while I was there I took my 32oz water bottle which I drank during cardio and strength training.

For dinner, I cut up some of my baked chicken breast.  I seasoned my chicken breast with sea salt, black pepper, lemon juice and ground marjoram.  So the juice from the baked chicken breast I put into a boiler along with the cut up chicken, threw in some celery added water and made it like a soup.  I cooked some brown whole grain rice.  I poured the chicken soup combo over the rice and that was dinna.  Later on had another sip of MonaVie just cause I like it.  Rest of the night tea or ice cold water.

Eating Healthy




Today I got in my Fiber One. The reason Fiber One is so important in weight loss is the 28grams of fiber. The Food and Drug Administration recommends getting in 25 to 30 grams of fiber a day. That allows your colon and intestines to get a daily cleansing. In addition to getting in the daily recommended fiber you also get the following in a 1/2 cup serving:

Day 3 Completed


Today is day 3 of eating healthy and exercising daily. So I got in my 1 cup of Fiber One, along
Looks like the last time I posted was back in 2007. So that has got to change. I am still in fitness. Last year I underwent major surgery to remove cancer, had radiation and chemo. And I am Blessed to say, I am healed, and better than ever. I attibuted my healing to God and my passion for fitness.



Lucky for me last year I actually gained weight throughout my situation, so this year I am back on the fitness trail. Earlier this year I focussed on stretching and getting the stiffness out of my joints. Next I cleaned out the frig all the junk, and now I am on my slogan of "Eat Healthy, Exercise Daily, Enjoy Your Body, & Become Fit & Empowered with MartiKay The Queen of Fitness".
