We Fall Down, But We Get Back Up Again

So two weeks ago I started on Atkins.  My first week I had good success for the first 4 days, then I fell down off the plan.  My weakness turned out to be those dang gong giant pixy stixs.  They have 11 grams of sugar in one giant pixy stix.  Now I don't know if you know the conversion of grams to teaspoons but it is for every four grams it equals one teaspoon.  So one giant pixy stix has about 3 teaspoons of sugar.  During my first two weeks the goal was to get in no more than 20 net carbs from good stuff like veggies, not giant pixy stix that are high glycemic.  Remember high glycemic foods triggers the body to go into fat storing mode verses fat burning mode.

So this does not mean that I give up, it just means I have to adjust.  Even though I was not hungry I just wanted the pixy stixs because they were fun.  So now I can understand why people could fall off of their plan.  Not because the plan is not working, but because the food that they like not necessarily crave brings them great pleasure. 

So either I have to ween myself off the pixy stixs, plan for a pixy stix here and there or try another diet regimen.  So because I like the results that I have received from Atkins, I think I will give it another go and plan for a pixy stix as a treat.  Also I will get the 12 inch pixy stix and leave the 24 inch stix along.  So that will be my focus. 

Now this is the benefits of journaling.  I was able to look back as see the culprit and adjust.  Hopefully this helps you in your fitness journey.
